Technician Performance
Overview
The Technician Performance section provides a centralized location for tracking and evaluating technician activity, productivity, and job completion across your organization. This module empowers managers to monitor workforce metrics, review productivity trends, and identify opportunities for increased efficiency or further training.
Within this interface, you can:
Analyze individual and group technician performance
Monitor completion rates and productivity metrics
View historical trends for continuous improvement
Export performance data for further analysis or reporting
1. Technician Performance Dashboard
The Technician Performance Dashboard is divided into two primary areas: Summary Metrics (KPI Boxes), detailed graphical visualizations, and a comprehensive Data View table for in-depth performance analysis.
1. Technician Performance Dashboard – Data View
The Data View displays performance details for each crew or technician in a structured table. The dashboard is organized to help supervisors quickly assess workload, job completion, and resource utilization.
1.1 Main Table Structure
For each technician group (crew), the table shows the following columns:
Name: The name of the crew or technician.
Type: Indicates whether the record represents a Crew or an individual User.
Completed Jobs: Number of jobs fully completed by the crew/technician.
Assigned Jobs: Total jobs allocated for the crew/technician within the selected date range.
Completion Rate: The percentage of assigned jobs that have been completed (e.g., 12.1%, 6.1%, etc.), visually indicated by a progress bar.
Avg Jobs Per Period: The average number of jobs completed per reporting period (such as per week or month). Shows workload trends over time.
Avg Completion Time: Average duration (in hours) required to complete a job. Useful for benchmarking speed and efficiency.
Utilization Rate: Indicates the percentage of the technician’s capacity that is actively used (e.g., 85%). This is visually displayed as a blue progress bar for easy comparison.
This detailed view enables efficient identification of high-performing groups and quick detection of productivity gaps.
1.2 Search, Filter, and Grouping Tools
The Data View provides robust filtering to focus your analysis:
Search Bar: Instantly locate crews by name or ID for direct performance review.
Group By: Analyze performance statistics by Crew, User, or both together to compare individual and team contributions.
Date Range: Select from preset options such as All Time, Today, Yesterday, Tomorrow, This Week, Last Week, This Month, Last Month, or set a Custom date span to review historical or current performance.
Apply these filters to tailor the dashboard to your specific management needs.
1.3 Exporting Data
Click the Export PDF button to create a formatted PDF of the displayed metrics and table.
The Export PDF feature allows users to quickly generate a professionally formatted document of the technician performance data currently visible on the dashboard. The exported PDF includes all filtered technician or crew records along with key metrics such as name, type, completed jobs, assigned jobs, completion rate, average jobs per period, average completion time, and utilization rate. This functionality supports easy sharing with stakeholders, records archiving, and audit or performance review sessions by providing a comprehensive snapshot of workforce productivity in an accessible format.
1.1 KPI Boxes (Summary Metrics)
At the top of the dashboard, you’ll find key performance indicators for the selected timeframe:
Total Jobs: Total number of jobs assigned to technicians
Average Completion Rate: The percentage of assigned jobs completed
Average Utilization: The proportion of available technician time spent on productive work
These values provide a high-level snapshot of operational performance for your team.
1.2 Visualization
Below the KPI boxes are interactive visual graphs and tables that provide deeper insight into technician and team activity:
Completion Rate by Group: Compares the job completion ratios across different technician groups or teams, highlighting areas of high and low performance. This visualization helps identify which groups are effectively completing assigned work and which may need additional support or resources.
Productivity Metrics: Graphs key measures such as average job completion time and total jobs per technician, allowing you to benchmark technical efficiency.
Utilization by Group: Displays how effectively different technician teams utilize their available working hours, helping optimize resource allocation.
Productivity Trends: Visualizes trends in completion rate and utilization over time, offering an at-a-glance view of workforce improvements or emerging issues.
Each visualization can be filtered or refined for different job categories, technician groups, users, or custom date ranges.
3. Interpreting Technician Metrics
Total Jobs: Reflects workload and assignment rate for the selected period.
Average Completion Rate: A higher rate indicates strong execution and reliability across teams.
Average Utilization: Shows how fully technicians’ available time is used; low utilization may signal under-scheduling or inefficiency.
Productivity Metrics: Include average completion time per job and jobs closed per technician.
Completion Rate by Group / Utilization by Group: Identifies which groups excel or may need improvement, guiding workforce development efforts.
Trends: Longitudinal data helps spot improvement, decline, or seasonal shifts in technician performance.
4. Searching and Filtering Technician Data
4.1 Quick Search
Use the search bar to instantly find a specific technician or group, especially helpful for larger teams.
4.2 Advanced Filtering
By Crew: Analyze performance at the crew level.
By User: Focus on individual technician records.
Crew and User (Combined): See detailed breakdowns by crew and user together for deeper analysis.
Date Range: Select from "All Time," "Today," or specify your own range.
Click Reset Filters to clear all criteria and return to the full dataset.
